The Inn on Poplar Hill has teamed with TrainIT to offer an exciting and fun filled team building retreat. Incorporating a fun filled afternoon of team building activities and culminating with a Night of Murder and Mayhem at a Murder Mystery Dinner.
An experienced trainer will lead your team through a series of challenges emphasizing communication, problem solving and the importance of trust. People learn by doing, and team building activities are an effective method of teamwork training. We customize our programs to focus on your objectives. Teams tap into their creativity, problem solving, negotiation and planning skills and interact with each other in ways that are truly unique. Your group of individuals will walk away as a team, laughing and communicating in a whole new way.
A murder can be a perfect way to bring your office together. Imagine your colleges working as a team to solve the crime, with the theme of your choice. Team members will assume a persona, don the appropriate attire, discover clues, uncover motives and finally crack the case. Played over a four course gourmet dinner, our Murder Mystery Dinners are so much fun they are almost criminal.
We do our research and talk to you about the theme of your conference, the goals that you are looking to achieve and the unique challenges facing your team.

- The Inn on Poplar Hill has 6 guests rooms all with private baths accommodating 12 guests double occupancy.
- Larger groups or teams that prefer single occupancy accommodations can be housed at several B&B’s within walking distance or a Holiday Inn less than 1 mile from the property.
- Our chef is happy to accommodate any special culinary requests.
- Coffee, tea, cookies and other home baked treats are available throughout the retreat.
- A full country breakfast, picnic lunch and a four course gourmet dinner are all included. Additional meal service is available upon request.
One Night Team Escape
Day 1:
- Check in around noon to your luxury accommodations double occupancy in 6 comfortable rooms.
- Enjoy a group picnic lunch.
- Build team spirit with a 3-hour customized team building workshop.
- Savor a four course dinner during a fun evening of murder and mayhem at one of our famous Murder Mystery Dinners.
- After dinner your team can hang out in our game room with billiards, Wii , Netflix, and Wifi.
Day2:
- Begin the day with coffee delivered to your door.
- Join your team for a hot bountiful breakfast.
- Enjoy a late check out; explore the grounds further.

Two Night Team Retreat
Day 1:
- Check in for two nights of luxury accommodations double occupancy in six comfortable rooms.
- Enjoy the team camaraderie around a campfire with s’mores and ghost stories.
Day2:

- Join the group for a hot bountiful breakfast.
- A 4-hour customized team-building workshop follows.
- A picnic lunch is served and then the afternoon is yours to enjoy relaxing in your room, visiting local attractions, or exploring our 28 acres.
- Enjoy a four course dinner during a fun evening of murder and mayhem at one of our famous Murder Mystery Dinners.
- Relax in our game room over a game of billiards, a Wii challenge or watch a Netflix movie.
Day 3:
- After another delicious breakfast, you have the chance to explore the grounds further.
