Enjoy Paddling down a Scenic River and Learn Basic Kayaking Skills
Your trained guide will provide all of the all of the equipment and experience needed! The Kayaks, paddles life vests and spray skirts were all included, for a very reasonable $60 per person.
Recently Marty and I enjoyed a rare day off, we wanted to do something outside to take advantage of the weather and really feel part of nature. So we signed up for a guided Kayak tour and lesson from the Rapidan River Kayak Company. What a fun and refreshing outing. As seasoned Tubers we weren't sure if we would like the "work" that a Kayak trip entailed. All that rowing and white water. We usually just sit on the tube and float down the river. But we were both surprised how fun it was to have some control. It was easy to pick up the strokes and navigate the river. And so much fun. We knew that we had to offer this to our guests.

The Rapidan River Kayak Company offers 2 tour packages:
- A two to three hour paddle down the scenic Rapidan River below Spicers Mill dam to the Rt 15 bridge. $60 per person
- Or a four to five hour paddle on the beautiful Robinson River in Madison County $75 per person.
No experience necessary, your experienced guide will cover basic skills and safety at the beginning of the trip.
Recommended clothing: Swimsuits of shorts and shirt in warm weather. Shoes are required. Water shoes, water sandals or old athletic shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Bring a hat sunscreen, water and a snack. You will have pockets in your safety vest. But be prepared to get wet!

All Tours are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather conditions.
Your guide/instructor has the following certifications:
- American Canoe Association, Kayak Level 1 Instructor
- WMI/NOLS _ Wilderness first Aid
- American Heart Asssociation - CPR
